Friends of Florida State Forests (FFSF) is a charitable not-for-profit corporation, exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, I.D. #59-3504595. Membership dues, donations and contributions are tax deductible as permitted under current law. FFSF is an organization established by Florida statute that supports programs within Florida's state forests and is governed by a board of directors representing all areas of the state. The IRS has determined that FFSF does not have to file Form 990.
FFSF's mission . . . through community support, assist the Florida Division of Forestry to expand opportunities for recreation, environmental education, fire prevention and forest management within Florida's state forests.

A statewide board of directors governs the Friends of Florida State Forests (FFSF). This board is composed of representatives from groups throughout the state who utilize the various resources provided by state forests, including the forest products industry, horseback riders, hikers, hunters, motorcycle riders, forest educators and others who have a vested interest in ensuring Florida forests remain for future generations.
